In this session, we’d like to start a dialogue with other K-3 educators as to how to further address issues of equity, diversity and inclusion with our early elementary students. We felt the effects of the recent racist events that happened within SAS in our classrooms too. We found ways to talk about it with our third grade students in a productive way, but we see this as just a beginning. We’d love to talk and get ideas of what we can do to continue this work in our classrooms. We’ll share some books that have helped us with hard conversations and resources we’ve found helpful, but we’d love this to be more of a conversation of sorts.
